Storefront does not provide insurance to renters or listing owners. Each party is responsible for arranging their own coverage appropriate to their role and event type.

Renter responsibilities:

Renters may be required to obtain general liability insurance and provide proof of coverage (a Certificate of Insurance, or COI) before occupying a space. The specific requirements are set by each listing owner. See Do I need insurance? for a full breakdown of coverage types and how to get a policy.

Listing owner responsibilities:

Listing owners are responsible for maintaining their own property and premises liability insurance. Storefront does not insure the physical space or its contents during a rental period.

Recommended insurance providers:

Storefront has some recommended partners who offer short-term event and commercial insurance:

  • The Event Helper — short-term event insurance (US only)

  • Thimble — on-demand business insurance for events and activations

  • Markel — specialty event and retail liability coverage

If you have questions about what insurance is right for your specific event, we recommend speaking to a licensed insurance broker. For booking-related questions, contact support@thestorefront.com.
